Children and their welfare were close to Nelson Mandela’s heart. According to him “there can be no keener revelation of a society’s soul than the way in which it treats its children”.
The staff from NMCH used Madiba’s birthday on 18 July to support his ideals and promote his legacy by spending time with children in the paediatric wards of Charlotte Maxeke Johannesburg Academic Hospital.
This was a way in which we took Madiba’s work and words forward, by changing the world for the better, each making a small difference, as combined effort can change the world.
It was a positive gesture for the NMCH family to go out, take action and be the catalysts of the change we want to also see in the hospitals that will be referring to us.
It was also a great way to nurture on-going relationships with referring hospitals.
