Yesterday (Thursday, 19 February 2015), the retired Chairperson of the Nelson Mandela Children’s Fund (the Fund) received an update of the hospital project from CEO Sibongile Mkhabela, as well as Lead Clinician Prof. Keith Bolton. They were accompanied by Jabu Malindi from SIP Project Managers, as well as Dr Tom Kane.
Justice Moseneke was at the helm of the Fund when the organisation was requested by Nelson Mandela to investigate paediatric healthcare. He led the organisation through the process of pre-feasibility, feasibility, and eventually the establishment of the Nelson Mandela Children’s Hospital Trust in 2009. And, in March 2014, was keynote speaker at the groundbreaking dinner for the Nelson Mandela Children’s Hospital.
As the former Chair and now a Trustee of the Fund, Justice Moseneke has long been a champion of the hospital project – and we are deeply grateful for his continued leadership and support.
